Catalog description

The application of ethical theories and codes of ethics to the ethical decision-making processes. Ethical issues involved around making choices about saving and enhancing human life, improving life quality, human and animal experimentation, regulation involving bio-related research and data collection/analysis, standards for the design of medical devices and their certification will be considered in this course. Other related issues such as intellectual property rights and conflicts of interest may also be discussed. This course is part of a Miami Plan Advanced Writing sequence. Prerequisite: junior standing or permission of instructor.
