Decision Support & Continuous Improvement

Catalog description
This application-based course equips students with the skills to analyze operations, make data-informed decisions, and implement continuous improvement strategies in business contexts. Students will apply decision-support tools, process mapping, root cause analysis, and Lean-inspired improvement cycles to identify inefficiencies, develop solutions, and measure results. While not a project management course, students will be introduced to selected project planning tools, including PERT charts, critical path analysis, and basic production/labor scheduling, as they relate to process improvement initiatives. Coursework emphasizes hands-on projects integrating quantitative data and qualitative insights.. Prerequisite: STA 261 .
