Concepts and basic computational techniques for mainstream bioinformatics problems. Emphasis placed on transforming biological problems into computable ones and seeking solutions. Prerequisites: (BIO/CSE/ MBI 256 or CSE 174 ) and (BIO/ MBI 116 or MBI 201 or BIO 342 ) or permission of instructor. Cross-listed with CSE 456/CSE 556 and MBI 485/MBI 585 .
