Overview of plant diversity considering all major groups of plants. Although primarily a survey of structural and biochemical characteristics that define each group, the course also examines evolutionary themes among these organisms with particular emphasis on land plant evolution and the polyphyletic nature of the algae. CAS-D. Prerequisite: a course in biological science.
