Explores the role of linguistic performance, verbal art, and other communicative practices in negotiating power and disparate access to opportunities and resources within and among social groups. Special attention will be given to how identities, ideologies, and worldviews are linguistically created, recreated, and challenged in global contexts. CAS-C.
