This course explores the ways in which an individual’s and communities’ health, health behavior, and health outcomes are embedded within dynamic cultural, social, political, economic, and biological systems. We bring a person-centered, holistic approach to better understand the experiences of illness and how those experiences are impacted by medical systems, offering an overview of the concepts and methods of a transdisciplinary medical anthropology.
