Catalog description

Information and insight toward an understanding of the major developments in the history of art from the late fifteenth through sixteenth century in Italy, centered around the long career of Michelangelo. Students will learn about Michelangelo's role in spurring the High Renaissance and Mannerist periods as well as the relationship between the artistic culture and concurrent political, social, religious, and philosophical ideas of his time.
