Catalog description

This introductory level drawing class is designed to advance observational drawing skills; learn basic color theory and application in chromatic observational drawing; learn basics of linear perspective and other modes of composing a pictorial space; and explore advanced content and formal strategies combining direct observation and invented figures and spaces. Students will be engaged in variety of short and long-term drawing activities; deepen their conceptual and formal understanding of drawing; and learn from a wide range of traditional and contemporary drawings through lectures, demonstrations, critiques, and readings. Prerequisite: ART 121 .
