Prerequisite(s): Junior standing or higher Students in the course become familiar with the organizational structure of the health care field and are provided a general orientation to management practices within the industry. Emphasis is placed on the inter-relatedness of cultural, economic, political, technological and social aspects of health care delivery, along with its services and management. Further, the course content emphasizes the differences in management of health care from other professional areas and the importance of patient care and ethical issues for the manager to consider. Disease origins and epidemiology are explored as background for the aspiring management student.
