Metropolitan State University of Denver · 3 credits · UGRD

Prerequisite(s): ENG 1020 or ENG 1021 with a C or above In this course, students explore contemporary and historical beauty cultures (both in the U.S. and in a global context), their critiques, and their impact on the lived experience of individuals, including themselves. We attempt to discern and untangle the interplay between individual aesthetic impulses, informal transmission between folk groups, and larger cultural and structural forces as they pertain to the beautification of the human face and body.
