Prerequisite(s): Satisfaction of General Studies Requirements for Quantitative Literacy This course is an introduction to the principles of surveying for construction, including measurement of distances, elevations, and angles. Students review the essential trigonometry required for surveying applications, then apply it to traverse computations, error theory, and coordinate geometry to support construction layout and mapmaking. Applied demonstrations with surveying instruments, CAD/data collectors, and field-style exercises emphasize the accuracy and role of surveying data in engineering design and construction project management.
