Prerequisites: ANT 1310 or permission of instructor The study of human behavior and cultures has always fascinated and puzzled social scientists. In this course, we will examine the historical and social dimensions of the study of cultures from the 19th century to the present and related conceptual paradigms. In addition, we will examine how increased awareness of issues of differential power, observer/observed subjectivities, culturally constructed identities and fieldwork ethics have influenced how we understand the human condition. Students cannot earn credit for both ANT 3390 and ANT 3391.
