Catalog description

In this course students will gain a thorough understanding of the fundamental skills used in the safe use of SMAW welding equipment. Typical fundamental skills include striking the arc, making fillet welds in the flat position, and making groove welds in the flat position, culminating with a welder qualification test. A variety of methods are used to examine the weldments such as visual inspection, fillet weld break tests, and root/face bend test specimens.
