Catalog description
Students learn survey mapping using drones and aerial remote sensing equipment. Students gain practical experience on the operation of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) including: piloting UAS, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rules and rugulations, weather, loading and performance. Best practices for setting ground control points (GCPs), digital processing of field data and data analysis are also discussed. Students develop 3D point cloud models and orthomosaic photos for use in construction, architecture and civil engineering.
