Catalog description

This course introduces the knowledge, skills, and professional responsibilities of the EmergencyMedical Technician (EMT). Students will study EMS systems, legal and ethical issues, patientassessment, airway management, shock, and common medical emergencies, with an emphasison identification, communication, safety, and wellness. Classroom instruction helps preparestudents to provide safe, effective care within the EMT scope of practice. This course is designedto be taken along with the corequisite lab and Clinical portions as the practical components.
