Catalog description

Students develop a basic understanding of the diesel technology including preventive maintenance, shop processes, tool usage, safety, and career opportunities. Students also identify and explain basic functions of components including the engine, driveline, HVAC system, and accessories. NOTE: This course is a prerequisite for most Diesel courses and must be completed with a grade of "C" or above to progress in the Diesel Technology program.
