Externship I

Catalog description

The student participates as a veterinary technology extern in an approved small animal practice for a minimum of 45 days, consisting of eight hours each, or a total of 360 hours. The student is to achieve competency in skills and decision-making abilities commensurate with the Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA) requirements. Twenty-seven contact hours with the instructor are scheduled for lecture, demonstration and student participation. Registration with the permission of the program director.
