Social Work Practice II

Catalog description
Students will be introduced to theories, concepts, research findings, and skills common to professional practice. Specific attention will also be devoted to those skills required for working with individuals, and collectives (family, groups, communities) and for intervening in the client's environment. Students will examine the phases of the helping process, starting with the initial phase and assessment and consider their application in different life situations, especially with at risk populations. Students will be taking this course concurrent with their fieldwork placement.
