This first Level-II fieldwork provides students with an in-depth, supervised experience in delivering occupational therapy services to clients in a specific population and setting. Students focus on the application of meaningful occupation, administration, and management of occupational therapy services under the supervision of a registered occupational therapist. The fieldwork experience promotes growth in the student's clinical reasoning and reflective practice along with exploration of the values and beliefs that enable the student to prepare for ethical professional practice. Sixty days (minimum of 6.5 hour day or 400 hours) or 12 weeks full-time Level II Fieldwork Experience is required for this placement. Hours for student attendance are determined by the clinical site in coordination with the occupational therapy program and may include some weekend or evening hours. The time commitment is equivalent to a full-time job. Part-time fieldwork experiences are arranged upon mutual agreement between the fieldwork site, OT Program, and OT student and must be at least 50 percent of a full-time equivalent at the site and in compliance with state regulations.
