This course focuses on role development of the family nurse practitioner. Topics covered include the historical, and socio-political influences on the development of the role and role development theory. The course emphasizes role transition, ethical and legal aspects of the family nurse practitioner role, prescriptive authority and responsibility, and interprofessional collaboration.
