Catalog description

This course provides opportunities for the investigation of curriculum content and approaches for the creative teaching of mathematics and science in bilingual education settings, which will be taught in context with other academic areas and real-world experiences. Following a constructivist paradigm, it provides an in-depth understanding of the nature of mathematics and science, the importance of mathematical and scientific processes, teaching mathematics and science through inquiry, and societal considerations. The use of appropriate technology and teaching pedagogy is promoted to allow bilingual students to take an active role in the learning process in bilingual classroom environments.
