This course is an introduction to the field of education for those considering the profession of teaching. The foundations of educational philosophy, history, reform, curriculum, law, and finance, as well as current debates around today's education trends, are explored. Cases, classroom examples and real-life applications will illustrate how to apply the material and will underscore the importance of integrating theory and practice to meet the needs of all learners in diverse educational settings. 15 hours of fieldwork required.
