Catalog description

This course is designed to provide guidance for managers regarding the integration of business strategy and accounting information. Examples include applying accounting principles to management compensation in a way that is consistent with company strategy, quantitatively assessing qualitative information through the Balanced Scorecard technique, and including information and objectives in budgets that encourage specific behavior that is congruent with the organization's long-term goals. These methods of communicating accounting information to increase coordination and cooperation within a company are addressed through a variety of readings, case studies, and class projects.
