Catalog description

This course acquaints teacher candidates with the theory and practice of the elementary language arts through exploration of instructional strategies for communication skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. An emphasis on developing certain strategies for oral and written language across the curriculum through theme cycles is emphasized. Technology, and multicultural infusion are stressed. Strategies for teaching these subject areas to the exceptional, disadvantaged and culturally different child are included.
