Catalog description
In this class, teacher candidates will explore the writing, speaking, listening, and language strands of the Common Core State Standards. Instructional delivery will closely model the foundations set forth by the National Council of Teachers of English. Teacher candidates will develop effective teaching strategies via observation requirements, lesson plans, daily oral language, and peer teaching assignments. Reflective measures such as professional development experiences, lesson plan reflections and designing an ELA classroom learning foundation will be utilized in order to become better prepared teachers. In addition, informal and formal assessments in ELA will be explored.
