The Human Resources (HR) Compensation and Benefits course addresses core concepts of adhering to standards with compensation-related laws and promoting effective labor-management relations. The course explores the evolution of employee compensation, from traditional base salaries, bonuses, and cash incentives to a more holistic approach. Emphasis is placed on current theories and practices in employee pay and benefits systems, positioning Human Resources as a strategic partner that supports organizational goals. Students examine equity and motivational theories to gain insight into fairness in compensation and its impact on employee motivation, satisfaction, and retention. NOTE: This course requires intermediate reading, writing, and math.
