Catalog description

Sheet Metal I introduces students to basic design, layout, and fabrication of sheet metal fittings and ductwork used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The students will learn proper ways to safely handle sheet metal and how to use sheet metal hand tools and mechanical equipment to fabricate the desired shape and size fitting and ductwork. This course provides fundamentals for HVAC technicians to build upon as they pursue their HVAC educational and career goals. (1.2-Articulated) Note: This course requires basic reading, basic writing, and basic math.
