Catalog description
Basic CPT Coding introduces students to the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding system for procedures in ambulatory care and services rendered by physicians. Individual code numbers are assigned to all procedures and services, and the course will emphasize the application of coding principles to accurately assign CPT codes to health records. The role of CPT codes in billing and reimbursement will be included. Students may repeat this course once for a maximum of 6 credit hours. (1.2-Articulated)
