Catalog description

Construction Estimating introduces basic methods of developing and controlling probable cost of construction for both residential and commercial projects. Students learn to calculate construction cost estimates, quantity takeoffs and surveys, labor productivity rates, local cost factors, and overhead and profit.  Cost estimating software and spreadsheets are used throughout the course. NOTE: This course requires basic construction document reading, Windows operating system, and file management skills. This course requires intermediate reading, writing, and math skills.
