Catalog description

Criminal Justice Internship is for students majoring in criminal justice who have no prior experience in the field. Students are required to work and observe operations at a participating agency for a minimum of 15 hours per week during a regular fall or spring semester, or a minimum of 30 hours per week during a summer semester. They also participate in three seminars scheduled throughout the semester. This course may be repeated once for a maximum of 6 credit hours. (1.2- Articulated) NOTE: The host agency will perform a criminal background check through state and federal sources. Completion of field experience hours at a police department does not guarantee a passing grade. The grade in this course will also take into consideration the student's demonstration of professionalism and will be determined after consultation with the collaborating agency.
