Introduction to Cultural Anthropology introduces the field and the methods by which cultural anthropologists collect data. Through discussions of the concept of culture and examinations of the various components of culture-such as subsistence, economic, kinship, political systems and religion-this course demonstrates the diversity of the world's cultures. Students come away with an appreciation for this diversity and greater insight into their own culture. (1.1-Articulated) [IAI Core Course Equivalent: S1 901N ] NOTE: This course requires advanced reading, advanced writing, and intermediate math.
