2D Animation introduces the foundational principles of motion and visual storytelling through sequential imagery. Students explore both traditional and computer-based animation techniques, incorporating drawn, vector, and bitmapped formats to create animated sequences. Emphasis is placed on timing, spacing, and the core elements of animation design. The course includes vocabulary development, critical analysis activities, and reference to contemporary and historical models of animation practice. (1.2 Articulated) [IAI Major Course Equivalent: MC924] NOTE: This course requires basic reading, basic writing and basic math.
