Catalog description

This course will prepare students to use an evidence-based approach to define, examine, and evaluate complex policies regarding children and families. Students will closely inspect how policy impacts practice with children, families, and communities. In this course, students will explore federal policies for children, adolescents, and families. Topics will include diversity, health care, mental health, education, poverty, child protection, delinquency, and homelessness. Students will also be challenged to evaluate effectiveness of current children and family policies.
