Catalog description

This course prepares social work students to employ techniques for substance abuse prevention, screening, assessment, and treatment, and evaluation of persons with alcohol and other drug-related problems. The impact of substance abuse upon the behavioral, psychosocial, physical, spiritual and social aspects of the individual, family, and community is interpreted. Students will be prepared for the implementation of effective substance abuse interventions, treatment planning, and policy recommendations.
