Catalog description

This course will prepare students to conduct social work practice with adolescents. Students will demonstrate understanding of adolescent development, examine theories applied to teenagers, and interpret policy, ethical considerations, and cultural competence skills specifically related to teenagers. Students will develop and recommend assessment, intervention, and evaluation skills that directly apply to the adolescent population with a focus on addressing specific adolescent challenges such as substance abuse, sexual identity issues, risky behavior, sexual behavior, delinquency, and mental health issues.
