Catalog description

This course is a foundation course designed to help students increase their understanding about diversity and difference in social work practice. This course develops students' evaluation of how diversity and difference characterize and shape the human experience concerning identity formation. Theoretical frameworks on diversity and social justice are compared for effective assessment of macro and micro social work issues. Students will analyze intersectionality, societal privilege, and its impact on marginalized populations.
