Catalog description

This course provides an advanced exploration of family systems theories. Students will explore theories and techniques of family therapy from a postmodern perspective. Topics include in-depth study of major postmodern models such as Collaborative Language System, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, as well as the contemporary model Emotionally Focused Family Therapy. Additionally, students will demonstrate understanding by applying the concepts to clinical vignettes and treatment plans.
