Social Aspects of Aging

Catalog description

This course will explore social aspects and constructs that affect, and are affected by, the experience of aging. Topics may include but are not limited to: Dimensions of aging, aging research, social constructions of aging, aging and family/romantic relationships, work and retirement, social/political policies related to aging, and gender differences related to aging. Students will explore societal myths about aging and the elderly.
