Catalog description

This course is the second in a two-part natural science sequence for prospective elementary school teachers. This course examines the fundamental concepts of Earth and physical science and their applications. Topics include the structure and composition of the Earth, Earth’s atmosphere and Earth’s bodies of water, the solar system and the universe, the structure and properties of matter, the principles of motion and energy and how to plan and conduct appropriate scientific investigations. An emphasis is placed on applying science concepts to current events in science and society.
