Catalog description

(Formerly EDUU 350) This course focuses on theories of learning, motivation, and development as they relate to the design of learning environments and instructional practices. Students will analyze physical, emotional, social, and cognitive factors that affect development and examine individual and group differences in learning. Behavioral, cognitive, social cognitive, and constructivist learning theories will be explored as well as the role that motivation plays in the teaching/learning process. Fieldwork experiences in public schools and other educational settings will provide students with the opportunity to explore key course concepts. A minimum of 10 hours of fieldwork is required for this course.
