Catalog description

The study of medical terminology introduces students to the basic elements and rules of building and analyzing medical terms within the context of anatomy, physiology, diseases and procedures. Students will gain an understanding of how to define, interpret, and pronounce medical terms. Using a systems approach, students will combine parts of words, such as prefixes, roots and suffixes to form medical terms that describe pathological processes. This course was developed for healthcare administration, health sciences, and pre-professional students. This course is only offered through the School of Extended Education.
