Catalog description

This introductory course in creative writing focuses on the study and creation of fiction, poetry, and plays. Students analyze technique in the works of published writers and in their own original works. After submitting written work for feedback, students participate in a writer's workshop, which includes constructive criticism from the class and the instructor. Increased writing skills help students prepare for many careers, including communication, education, writing, advertising, sales, journalism, law, business, and government.
