Catalog description

For intern eligibility, EDUU 644 and EDUU 665 may be taken concurrently. This course introduces students to the interaction between risk and protective factors to promote resilience for children who have environmental and/or biological risk and those with established conditions leading to eligibility for special education services. Students will explore in depth the impact of a variety of disabilities on development and learning so that they can provide appropriate support and services for young children and their families. Students will spend up to 25 hours observing children Birth through K with and without disabilities and completing field based assignments.
