Behavior Assessment and Intervention for Skill Acquisition

Catalog description
This course equips students to collect relevant client information (educational, developmental, medical) and conduct behavior skills assessments (social, academic, adaptive) to evaluate learner strengths and areas of need. Using assessment results, students will develop measurable goals and design evidence-based, culturally responsive interventions. Students will conduct preference assessments, apply Applied Behavior Analysis strategies such as reinforcement, prompting, and chaining, and promote skill generalization and maintenance across settings. Emphasis is placed on treatment fidelity, systematic data collection, and collaborative decision-making.
