The course focuses on the unique characteristics of health care delivery and discusses the major issues and challenges that impact the cost, quality, and access to health care. Students are introduced to the historical context of the U.S. health care system and its policies and general management, governance, operations, finance, and strategic planning issues that are essential to managing in the health care environment.
