Latinx/a/o Literature

Catalog description

An in-depth study of U.S. Latinx/a/o literature that introduces students to canonical and contemporary authors from South American, Central American, Caribbean, and/or Chicanx/a/o traditions, addressing themes such as the shifting definitions of “Latinx” in the U.S., Latinx gender and sexual identity, border crossing, language, racialization, assimilation, and resistance. Prerequisite: EN 102 or permission of instructor. Liberal Arts Core Designation: Literature (LT), Depth in Humanities (DHUM)
