Catalog description

Applied methods for teaching elementary science will be demonstrated using manipulatives, natural objects, technologies, and other tools of science and measurement. Students will study techniques in engineering and design and implement iSTEM (integrated) science lessons focused on project-based learning (PBL), an inquiry model. In addition, questioning strategies, safety in the science classroom, and appropriate assessment strategies will be addressed. Field experience: 10 hours. Prerequisites: ED 500SL and ED 509.
