Francis of Assisi had a strong influence on who Ignatius of Loyola became. Examines the connection between Francis of Assisi and Ignatius of Loyola and the faith communities they started. What are the overlapping themes of these two men and how did their paths differ. What can one learn from studying Franciscan and Jesuit Spirituality? What is the legacy of these two men and the communities they created? Finally, the class ends with a look at the impact of the only Jesuit Pope Francis.
