Continuation of SPAN 1001 . Emphasis on fundamentals of comprehension, speaking, reading and writing. Cultural awareness through authentic materials. Emphasis on communicative interaction. Development of Novice High language proficiency. Students who complete SPAN 1002 are eligible to enroll in SPAN 2001 or, upon receiving a grade of B+ or higher, in SPAN 2003 . Students may not also receive credit for either SPAN 1003 or SPAN 1021 .
