Catalog description

Examines fundamental ethical issues that arise in the practice of medicine and other health care professions. Possible topics include: the definition of death, the morality of suicide and euthanasia, patient-physician confidentiality, informed consent, refusal of lifesaving medical treatment, the morality of abortion, genetic engineering, human cloning and the allocation of scarce medical resources.
